The popularity of dancing right now is at an all-time high.  With TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing regularly being watched by over 10 million people each week, there has never been a better time to learn how to dance!

Dancing is a highly effective way to motivate children to be active and develop their creative expression. With increased funding going into primary schools to encourage physical activity, the number of schools offering dance as a part of PE lessons is expected to grow. Since 2013 almost a quarter of primary schools have introduced dance to PE lessons, and in in extra-curricular activities dance was the most popular new activity, above gymnastics and football!

Whether you already have a fully-fledged ballerina in training or just starting out, why not pop along to the Royal Opera House to find out more about the art of dancing. They hold regular events such as Family Sundays which give families the chance to explore the exciting world of ballet and opera. Or if you’ve never seen a ballet or opera before look into their Welcome Performances which offers a whole days entertainment from only £5-£20! Afterwards come and visit us in the historic Covent Garden Apple Market and find out what has made Miss Ellie Dancewear so successful.
